First of all, Niki’s BM promotion.

It was my first time fighting along with the team to help someone get promoted. It was a priceless experience. Everytime we talk about challenges, obstacles, teamwork, the sense of satisfaction after a victory.. How many times in your life do you actually encounter this? For me, only when I was gaming in the past or during the days in army. I never expect myself to experience this again after I quit gaming. Let to say in work or in life..

The thirst of hunger, the feeling of victory is something that hooks me up to crave for this kind of feeling. Credits to the whole team for making it happen. Seeing everyone helping each other, seeing who you can rely on when you really need them. And I believe this also strengthen the bond we had before.

From this promotion, Phoenix Advisor was borned. I was given this title which I like it alot. It doesn’t matter what kind of title I receive, but rather the things I have done is always being recognized in this industry. I have seen many other people stepping up as well. People like Alfrey especially. It was an opportunity to make use of our strength to help one another, an opportunity which you have to grab it.

After the promotion, there was this hype going around. Best influencer, Phoenix Advisor blah blah blah. Sometimes humans tend to feel comfortable with things too long that they became complacent or stagnant. I admit I was a victim of it. My performance slumped, I became so complacent that I started to take things for granted. Almost everyone in the team were all in celebration mood. Our results slumped.. everyone was like a titanic filled with water.. slowly sinking into the sea.

Joval Gan’s words hit me hard in my head. I am not sure about the others. “If you think everything is over, let me tell you guys this. This is just the beginning. The game is not over yet”

I am glad that we pulled it through and currently everyone is back to its best.

Appco Rally 2010

This is my first time I went to a Rally. I have always heard of it since the first day I join the company. It was held at KL, Putrajaya (hope I spell correctly). This convention hall is where Malaysia ministers hold their meeting, and I am so glad to have a chance going to such place. It was an eye opening experience. The convention hall itself is so gigantic that it can hold up to 3000 people. We have people from Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, VPs from UK to attend this Rally.

And of coz, my aim to go Rally is not only see see look look. But also there to collect my awards. It was my first Rally and I have achieved the Sales Achievement medal. On addition, I also got the Best Marketing Office of the year medal due to the hardwork everyone has put in. It was a deserved achievement in my opinion, especially Joval has done so much for everyone.

I feel that one of the attribute I possessed is to make use of every situation I face, turning it into an advantage for myself. Regardless if its something good or bad, I will somehow learn valuable lessons from it by self-reflecting. During the Rally, Adlynn came to me and told me something. “Last Rally, I only have 1 award and 1 guy in my team. Now I have 4 awards and 5 guys.” Adlynn is someone whom I give lots of respect and a figure in the company which many look up on. There must be a reason why she is saying this to me, maybe I am thinking too much maybe not. But for me, I am an ambitious person. If I am in the same situation as what she is in her previous Rally, it means I must get 4 awards with 5 guys in my team at least in the next Rally to match her. And the word “must” will begin with myself from the actions I do now. I see this as a self motivation.

Chinese New Year 2010

Chinese New Year is always the occasion I am looking forward to. However this year, the feeling is not there. Is it because as we grow older, we tend to lose the interest in enjoying the festive season? Or is it that everyone around you changed so much that the feeling is not there anymore? Or is it only me who feels this way as slowly we changed into a different person with different thinking?

It was a mental challenging occasion for me this time. Especially after joining the company, I tend to look at things, look at people with other perspective. First of all, I don’t feel the love between friends like how we had in the past. Secondly, I am facing debt problems which I know I am taking it too long to clear it, thus affecting a friendship to turn sour and people look at my differently. Thirdly, I faced distractions and negatives that affected my work. And lastly, I found the person whom I think I am looking for all these while.

This Chinese New Year, I see some difference in my group of friends. In the past, there were alot of “get along” sessions whereby we will ask each other about current situations. It is not about the “get along” sessions but rather the care and concern everyone show each other. This time, it was more of a gambling session than the usual gathering. I understand that it is normal to gamble during Chinese New Year but this time round, its like everyone is there for the sake of gambling. Still, there is some chat around but its not as many as compare to the past.

I am also glad that I have cleared alot of my debts this Chinese New Year, but at the same time the debts often overwhelm me because of the amount, the different people I need to clear and the job I am doing pays me irregularly due to my performance .  I always have this principle of being grateful to those that helped me and I will do something to repay them in the future. It will be my task to build this soured friendship back when I finally free myself from the financial burden I am facing, at the same time I can understand why is this person feeling like this and his actions. I am guilty of it because it was my wrong doing in the past which result in today’s awful scenario. I have no regrets over it and will be responsible for everything.

In my job industry, we always face rejections, face negatives spread from friends and relatives. Because these people around us are skeptical, and don’t understand from the surface they see. These people didn’t even make the effort to understand, neither do they give us a chance to sell our idea of the industry. I don’t blame them. These are the group of people who are always following people’s trail, which eventually are the easier path as compare to create their own trail. Whether they will end up being filthy rich or end up like the normal typical Singaporeans is still a question mark. One thing for sure is that it doesn’t bother me whether what happens to these people, as they are so afraid to take risk, having a fear in them to face failure, and being selfish by saying things according to their own feelings without thinking for others and especially they just have to mind their own business. I always thought I have a strong resistance but I was wrong. The negatives did affected me during the period when my shield was thin. But it was the trust and faith I have in this industry, the belief I have in the people I am working with around me that picked me back from this pitfall. End of the day it is about the mindset, the mentality. I am glad that everything is over and I am looking forward again to build my future. This is one of the dangerous period especially after the promotion, after the Rally, after all the holidays and breaks. It will be something for me to share with others in the future so that we will take precaution.

One of my greatest weakness in me is about LOVE. I knew this weakness of mine many years ago as I am always badly affected. Me who faced all kinds of shit, including death in the past equipped me with what I am today. I am not afraid of anything but when it comes to LOVE, this thing can easily slice me through like a knife and butter. After few years, I finally found myself liking someone again. It was suppose to be a good news but on other part, “seems” to be a good news. This person I like is someone I think I have been looking for all these years, but because of the situation I am having now, I am afraid to commit, afraid to enter courtship, afraid to enter a relationship, afraid that it will affect my work, afraid to face rejection, afraid that I might not give her happiness, afraid to bend the rules in my work industry.

This person has all the attributes of the ideal girl I am looking for. In terms of size, skincolor, character, personalities, communication, age, hobbies, talents, style, sense, and the feeling of being so comfortable whenever she is around. Most importantly, the fact that I have moved on from my previous heartbreaking relationship after so long. Many times we come across situations where we don’t really know whether to follow our heart or follow our head. Many times we come across times when we feel that we deserve a chance but not given any. Question is.. this time round should I follow my heart or follow my head? Will I get a chance to know you more? Will I have a chance to let you know more about me? Will you give yourself and give us a chance?

I am a person who is very serious when it comes to relationship, a person who is willing to give my 100%. When I enter a relationship, I see my partner as someone I am going to settle down with. I don’t have many girlfriends in the past, neither am I a person who often fall in love. This time, it is such a tough decision because this girl just pass by, entered my life. And I know if I don’t do anything about it, it will just slip away like that. It is a rare opportunity and I know this don’t come often. Things are so complicating and contridicting that I know the chance is so slim for us to be together if I get to see her. On another part, there will be a higher chance to be together if I don’t get to see her, unless I make up my mind and go for it.

Life is like a lost and found counter. When you thought you found it, you have lost it.

After BBQ, we went to sing KTV~!! Until around 1am. No voice also dont care sing until siao~!! It was a previledge coz we had 3 cars that day, after KTV we went for supper at yishun den drive around to different places to slack. Whole thing ended quite abruptly coz Mei Wen had to go back and all of us were tired.

Night time was our Appco Christmas Party. You can see 300+ different movie characters walking around in DXO. It was one of the best party I ever been to. Public on the 2nd floor were like mouth wide opened coz it was too happening that they hope to be in the same party as us lol. I dressed up as a chinese vampire that day. The make up was pretty last minute but still look decent. Before the party start, we were walking around in public with those costume. Everyone was treating us really like movie stars with all the attention.

Maybe you are wondering, how come I have time to blog today, its all thanks to MC lol. Very reluctant to stay at home, wanted to work but since I have all the time, shall make full use of it. Will be posting around quite a few entries.

Before I start my engine, shall upload pics of my tattoos, finally able to find someone to take for me.

The latest 2 tattoo are actually Thai Buddha Script with some meaning. These kind of tattoo I swear is more painful x99999 than normal tattoo. Its those traditional which doesnt use machine. The Divination Master use that super thick needle and pierce it one by one. Imagine someone using a super thick needle to continously poke the same area. I gek until sibeh buay tahan. But what matter most is that the end product is excellent. “)

I often went to batam in the past but this time it was a totally different feeling. The place we stay are not those chupalang resort which I used to stay, the activities and the things I learnt during the trip were also different. This “Rising Star” tag really gave me a huge boost of confidence. This time I shall not talk much abt the trip cause I have taken sufficient photos to paint a picture in everyone’s mind =)

Upon reaching office, Niki told me that I am being selected for lunch treat by Joval ^^ But of coz its nt abt the lunch, but rather the opportunity to meet people from credits, tel-co and more importantly James, our Vice President of Appco Asia. This actually gives me encouragement of being recognize for the things I have done in the company because from each company only has 1 or the most 2 representatives.

This week, I changed my approach when heading to the field. But I will not elaborate much. Sometimes its just a small thing that makes you a great person, or a small thing that makes big difference. I have always been doing things the right way, but by doing these will only categorize urself in the “good” grp where else, by doing just that little bit more, with that cutting edge, it will upgrade yourself being good to become the best. I have done extremely well in sales today (4CCs) due to the fact of the change I made, which the change is only just a small “thing”. I hope that this will actually stick on my head till the day I die coz not only in work I will apply it, but also in life.

Lastly, I am soooooooo happy that I am being selected for the Rising Star trip. Once again, it is actually a recognition of the hard work I have put in and the great results I have shown. To me, the tag “Rising Star” is someting I am very concern about. As I mentioned in my older post, since young, I am always being rated as a Rising Star, Wonderkid or the raw material before becoming a gem. And because I am ambitious, I really want my name to associate with these tags in everything I do. What I have done in the past are always disappointments to people around me. Maybe in the past, those tags really just comes so easily but this time I can swear its really very tough to earn myself this tag. Being more mature now, I will get it right this time to keep this Star forever rising instead of falling, developing from Wonderkid to Superstar and processing the raw material to become the most valuable gem. With these I really hope to continue building the strong reputation in the company as well.

Woot hotel outing was so much fun. we met up at around 5.30pm on sat, some of us went to the hotel first to put our stuff and shower, while others are on their way. We had our dinner at Lau Pak Sat, super delicioussssssssssssssssssssss. The 2 whole tables were flooded with food. I tink we ordered around 10 dishes, like buffet lydat. Eat until shioooooooooook. And of course, such a great honour to have Jeric to join us.

After dinner we actually played some card games,  some watched tv, some play psp while waiting for our food to be digested. Actually it was more of a warm-up for the later activities Everything lasted till around 8+ den we have our team lucky draw and of coz Alfrey is the winner with just 1 ticket left in the box lololol.

After the lucky draw we played a game which i dunno wad the name is, but it was quite fun.. simple game just using our hands, and its a mixture of UNO, so we actually put our hand in between other hands and one tap means continue, 2 tap means reverse direction, etc etc.. Of coz we have forfeit as well, and that is to use tissue to tickle the person’s ear and nose. Damn funny and I believe everyone enjoyed alot.

At around 10+ Jeric had to leave so some of us went to the roof top to explore the jacuzzi and swimming pool. Some of them are already falling aslp so the rest of us went for super at Lau Pak Sat afterthat. When we came back only left few of us are still having the energy to last for few more hrs. During this period of time we were watching an old movie call “Face Off”. What happen afterthat I am not very sure coz i was too tired and went to slp.

When I woke up, I heard that some of them already woke up at 6am but dunno wad da hell they were doing at that time. Ting Wei and Nezar went for a swim. I was there as well but was busying taking photos, wanted to join them but the water was soooooooo F-ing cold. The pool is so special, I tink ppl call this kind of pool the “Infinity Pool” You guys will understand what I mean when I upload the pics.

We packed our stuff at around 11am, had a short meeting and left the hotel. It was just a simple hotel outing, but it was the people that makes the whole outing so fun. And especially everyday we see each other during work, it was really an enjoyment and a good way to relax ourselves coz we believe we all work hard and play hard as well. 2 words to sum up the hotel outing.

Dua Pek Gong Temple + Tattoo Session

After the hotel outing, I head home to unpack my stuff and meet gong to go Dua Pek Gong Temple. I think hes feeling bored and since I have nothing to do, I dont mind going.

As usual lots of people, and the normal procedure.. only thing to talk about is that there was this huge stone in the temple, people usually crowd around it to look for 4D numbers. Some will see it, some will not, while different people will see different number. The most happening thing is that me and Gong saw exactly same numbers just in different sequence. We bought 4D and the number did open. But too bad in a sequence that we have not bought. Lol mixed feelings, coz initially I dont really believe the numbers will open, so was actually trying my luck but when u see the numbers did open, you will feel damn gek. So in the end it was like 50 50 de feeling.

After Dua Pek Gong Temple, we head to Sultan Plaza, beside Textile Center in Lavender. My purpose of going there is to take a look at a Thai Buddha tattoo shop. You know those Divination Master will actually help you do a tattoo using freehand and not from machine, then they will chant some Thai Buddhist Script. So different Script have different effects. I have plan to do such tattoo since long time ago but didnt expect myself to do it that day, cause I was thought have to book an appointment first and at the same time get myself mentally prepared. Putting tattoo is painful but without much thinking I just went ahead since it was a sooner or later thing.

All I can say is that, this free hand tattoo is much much more painful than those normal tattoo that I have done using machine. The Master actually use thicker needle and pierce it through the skin. Each pierce is like WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFucking painful. You guys shd ask Gong my facial expression, I was crunching my fist so hard that it turn red.

Well, I did 2 tattoo that day. 1 is a Sak Yant to “Kai Guang” and “Bi Xie”. Coz you actually need to put a Yak in order to put other scripts on your body. The Yak is like an access to enable the effect of the scripts. In direct translation, “Kai Guang” means open light. “Bi Xie” is to prevent evil things from following or going near you. 2nd tattoo is slightly bigger. It is actually a 5 sentence thai buddha script which have the effect of bringing the person Luck, Good relationship with people and Wealth.

I am not a very devoted Buddhist, but I am a strong believer in this kind of things. And although hard work is always essential, my concept is that Luck does play an important element in life as well. As for better relationship with people, in my work industry this is important to me also, even in my real life. And lastly for wealth, it has been a miserable past few years for me becoz of money problems. I am not being greedy to believe this kind of things but at the end of the day, who da hell in this world doesnt want to be wealthy? Money is the passport to many things and because of money, it has bring lots of torment in my life.

I will be uploading the pics for the hotel outing most prob this weekend coz it will take very long time. I am actually squeezing out my time for sleep to update this post. And of coz will upload the pics of my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4rd tattoo as request by quite a number of ppl. =)

First of all, Team gathering at Raffles Hotel this saturday its my first team outing with everyone, I am v sure that fun level will be max and of cause photos will tell thousand of story. Will update a post for it when its done.

Next is actually a Raising Star event that only few people will be selected for me. Of course, I hope to be selected as well. Its on 11th Dec at Bintan or Batam, cant recall. If I am really selected, it will b my first trip in the company.

3rd is the Christmas Party at DXO on 23rd Dec. Theme for the party will be MOVIE~!! Still haven decide what to dress up for that day, only thing I have in mind now is Astro Boy but hMm… I would love to dress up as a very cool character, super hero.. Was thinking of X-Men but dont know which character suits me. Looking forward for this party too lol.

Last is actually the rally at KL on 5th Feb. Will be the first Rally I am participating and I really hope to receive awards on that day. Working so hard for it now.

Above are things that are going to happen, but now I shall share with everyone what had already happened.

After my promotion to Corperate Trainer, life is getting more tough and bz each day. More responsibility and more things to learn. Leadership quality is still something I am trying to mould within myself. I swear I have the abilities but I just didnt fully unleash it and of cause by taking first step taking leadership can actually improve by learning more from people around me.

Past few weeks, we actually have people from Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia to come our office to learn things from us as Singapore is doing so well. But of course this is not a one way learning, we also learnt alot from them as well especially those from Philippines. Was selected for the exclusive chill-out session at M Hotel, J bar. It was my 2nd time there but I had totally different and mixed feelings. First time there was pretty noisy because of the live bands so could not really hear what other people is talking. 2nd time, I actually spent more of the time outside at the smoking area where its so cooling enjoying the breeze from a high level, most important of all is to enjoy cig while chilling out.

Last week, went to DXO with colleagues. Seems like going to such places will soon be part of my life again hah.. Reminds me of my army days, although I dont really like this kind of places, it was actually the people that helped me enjoy my time. But it will be better without any alcohol for me :X

The pace has been so fast for me since I start working, and I realize that I actually have lots of things to blog about, just that it took me so long to update that when I do so, I forgotten lots of stuff which I wanted to share with everyone. Still trying to improve on my time management, find some time to blog more oftenly so that will have more happening stuff to share, at the same time I can slp early, settle everything I need to do daily instead of throwing them aside till weekend coz most of the time weekend i will be outside.

But I have to admit, my life is so meaningful now, at the same time I can feel myself becoming a better person each day. I swear I can feel it and this power within me can own anyone anytime.

Nothing much this time but next week onwards my updates will be more regular, more happening, more pictures, more detail, more fun. The past few post, I always update in a tiring state of mind which is y maybe may seems boring cause din really share my thoughts and opinions.

Last of all, I want to thank Niki for everything and the book that you have given me. I know you will be reading my blog. And I know its abit obvious but it is really what I want to do, that is to thank u.

Before I end this post, I want to congratulate Aaron for your promotion, and last but not least, CAROL CHUE MEI WEN WELCOME BACK TO SINGAPORE. FUCKING HELL EXCITED LOL. will be seeing u soon, miss u so much man. U better book me in advance if not i will be damn busy :X
